Just another WordPress.com weblog

Hello world!

Welcome to Psychopedia!

I’m Jonah A. Steinhaus, MFT; California lic, 7300, and Editor of this web-blog.

Prior to taking up my stakes and going to Los Angeles in 1970, I was on staff counselor (there were no licensed professional counselors at that time) at the New York Institute of Technology. In 1980, I established the Medical Plaza Counseling Center in San Dimas, CA, an L.A. suburb. After commuting 60 miles daily, and fighting managed care for years, I relented and took employment with Health Net.

As I was leaving for work one day, I told my wife of 40+ years that I wasn’t feel well. My next memory was three weeks later when I awoke in UCLA Hospital, aphasic and paralyed on my right side.

“My heros have all been cowboys, and it seems like they have been for years….” I’ve been singing “Deperado” my whole life. Most of my antagonists have been internal. Now I have another. A real one.

So… … … I guess I’m one-handed, aphasic, singing cowboy; desperate for a handout (pun intended) trying to keep his hand into the profession he loves.
